2.    TOWN CENTRE DEVELOPMENT PLANS. MEETING OF SHOWGROUND USERS

Cllr L Collett had attended a meeting which included many user groups.  The concern of these users was the loss of space for the various events they organised.  Suggested solutions included the developers purchase the strip of land adjacent the field, which if donated to the show ground would compensate for the reduction of space.  The loss of car parking spaces for whole day events was also a cause for concern.  The proposed number of spaces is considerably lower than those currently available.  It was also felt that there were insufficient spaces available for the residential development proposed for opposite the Legion.  The group has written to Tesco asking for a meeting.
