Concern was raised about possible light pollution and the impact this would have on neighbouring properties.
121 Change of use to materials recycling centre. Land at Lawrence Works, Springvale Industrial Estate, Penistone for Mr L Maw.
The Town Council objects to this application due to the detrimental impact this will have on nearby residents brought about by increased noise, dust, vibration and traffic movements. There has been an incident recently where a lorry failed to negotiate the exit from the site and crashed through a boundary wall on the opposite side of the road. This decision was agreed following a vote of 6 to 4 against.
193 Change of use from D2 (racing Pigeon Clubhouse) to A1 (Retail). 3 Thurlstone Road, Penistone for Nigel Schofield.
The Town Council objects to this application, as there is inadequate off road parking for this site.
204 Formation of a quad bike track. Peak Venture, Kingswood Educational Centre, Huddersfield Road, Penistone for Kingswood Learning & Leisure Ltd.
Previous concerns were reiterated, namely the impact noise would have on neighbouring residents. A request was made to exclude Sundays and possibly have an early finish.
1860 (1) Erection of 153 dwellings and provision of amenity open space.
(2) Refurbishment and alteration of main works building.
(3) Change of use of works offices (ancillary) to general office use.
Land at David Brown Pumps, Green Road, Penistone for David Brown Pumps & George Wimpey, South Yorkshire Ltd.
The Town Council objects to this application for the following reasons:
· Loss of Employment on designated Industrial Land
· Unacceptable increase in levels of traffic onto Green Road
· Infrastructure already under pressure from other new housing developments.
The council also urgently requests a traffic survey be carried out to assess the impact of these increased numbers.
