ABSENT

Apologies for absence were received from Cllrs R Gregory, D Lofthouse, A Simon, B Hinchliff, R Hinchliff and D Harrison.

 

The Chair expressed disappointment that five councillors had not stayed to the Planning Meeting and that a reason must be given.

 

DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Cllr E Elders declared an interest in no 1525 and this item was moved to the end of the agenda.

 

PLANNING APPLICATIONS

 

1423        Change of house type including the provision of one additional dwelling – plots BS4 and BS5. Site of former Hi-Tec Foundry, Green Road, Penistone for Barratt Sheffield

1427        Erection of canopy between nursery unit and main school building. Penistone St John the Baptist C of E Infants School, Chapelfield Lane, Penistone

1524        Erection of 2 storey side extension to dwelling 23 Cubley Rise Road, Penistone for D Booth.

1535        Renewal of planning consent B/01/0068/PU – Erection of three detached dwellings. Land adjacent Tralee, Mortimer Road, Cubley for Mr Cartwright.

1537    Erection of side conservatory extension to dwelling. 6 Kennedy Close,  

            Millhouse Green for Mr & Mrs Wiley.

1539        Erection of one pair of semi-detached dwellings. Land rear of Wentworth Arms P.H Sheffield Road, penistone for Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries.

1540        Demolition of dry stone wall and repositioning of site access (Conservation Area Consent) Land to the rear of Wentworth Arms, Sheffield Road, Penistone for Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries.

1549        Erection of side conservatory extension to dwelling, Carr House Cottage, Royd Lane, Millhouse Green for Mr K Worboys.

1559        Erection of a block of three stables. Land off Joan Royd Lane, Cubley for Victor Sylvester.

1566        Erection of first floor rear extension to dwelling. 42 Pengeston Road, Penistone for Mr C Mathewman.

1581        Erection of two storey side extension to dwelling. 21 Lees Ave, Penistone for Mr & Mrs Williamson.

 

The Town Council has no objections to the above applications.

 

1433        Erection of first floor side extension over existing garage. 2 Rydal Close, Penistone for Mr J Singleton.

This application does not have a site plan and therefore insufficient information to comment.

 

1436        Increase height of roof to create habitable rooms in roof space. 28 Salters Way, Penistone for Mr & Mrs Dowle.

Concerns were raised regarding the visual impact that this increase in height will have.

 

1516        Demolition of existing porch and extension of existing pitched roof over sun lounge, utility and double garage (Resubmission) Croft End, Cooper lane, Hoylandswaine for Mr & Mrs Sagar.

The Town Council reiterated previous concerns regarding proximity to number 50/52 Cooper Lane.

1561    Culvert section of watercourse (Retrospective) Turton Field, Manchester

            Road, Millhouse Green for R Middleton

The Town Council objects to the culvert on environmental grounds.  There seems to be no reason for this unless future development is intended.

 

Cllr Elders left the meeting at this point.

 

1525        Erection of 141 dwellings and part public open space (Reserved Matters) Eckland Bridge Works, Manchester Road, Millhouse Green for Cala Land Investments Ltd.

The Town Council reiterated previous objections. This is an area designated for light industrial use and any change is a departure from the UDP.  The proposed number of dwellings for the site and the impact that the increase in traffic will have is of major concern.  There have also been complaints from residents.
