Residential Development of five houses and a two
storey block of ten flats. Land at Lyttleton Crescent, Penistone for Equity
Housing Group.
The Town Council supports the much needed Affordable Housing Scheme.
However there have been a number of legitimate concerns raised by the residents
that must be addressed. Firstly, the
concern over access for emergency vehicles.
Many of these properties do not have driveways or parking places. Cars are therefore parked on the road
side. The road is only 4.4m wide. When cars have parked on the pavement they
have received tickets. Examples have been given where ambulances have been
unable to reach their destination. The concern is that the additional parking
will increase this problem. Secondly,
the reduction in the size of the play area.
Moved by Cllr L Collett, seconded by Cllr Unsworth and RESOLVED that
these concerns be put to the Planning Office.
