The Penistone Boundary Walk
The Penistone Boundary Walk is a circular trail that follows the historic boundary of Penistone. Beginning at Cubley Hall it covers 25 kilometres/16 miles and reaches a height of 355m (1164ft) at Hartcliffe.

The Trans Pennine Trail
The TPT is an exciting new route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders that links the North and Irish seas. Part of the National Cycle Network , it passes through the hills of the Pennines, alongside rivers and canals, and through some of the best towns and cities in the North of England.

Cannon Hall
Covering over 70 acres of parkland, landscaped in the 1760's by Richard Woods, the park is an ideal place for a relaxing walk or family outing. The historic walled garden adjacent to the main Hall dates from the 1760's and can be enjoyed by visitors all year round. An annual event in September celebrates the pear trees, which were first grown here in the early eighteenth century.

The Maize Maze
This seasonal attraction is open during the summer holidays and boasts a huge maze for the kids to get lost in, the maze is constructed from the Maize plant which towers upwards of 3 metres, One of the biggest attractions to hit Cannon Hall ever and a great use of the local environment.

Cannon Hall Open Farm
Cannon Hall Open Farm is a privately run, modern, family, working
concern, featuring a comprehensive collection of British and European farm animals. There are always young animals to see, including llamas and wallabies. The farm also has a children's adventure play area, tea room and gift shop.

Elsecar Heritage Centre
The award winning Elsecar Heritage Centre is an exciting History and Craft Centre, set in the attractive conservation village of Elsecar and surrounded by beautiful South Yorkshire countryside. The Centre is located within the former ironworks and colliery workshops of the Earls Fitzwilliam, where visitors can explore the attractively restored buildings and monuments, wander alonside the Dearne and Dove Canal and follow footpaths including a branch of the Trans-Pennine Trail.
