Developing new Initiatives
Early in 2005 the Partnership began an initiative to register Penistone as a Fairtrade Town . This initiative is now being supported by a number of local businesses, churches and community groups. In association with St John the Baptist Church we are looking to landscape the East end of the churchyard and create an accessible, sensory and heritage garden. The garden would have full public access and link a permissive footpath from the Town Hall / Cinema to the Community Centre and Trans Pennine Trail.

The garden will create a new community green space in the centre of the market town providing a much needed public amenity for residents and visitors alike.

Sports Development
Our sports development project has been sucessful with a number of local initiatives such as, summmer sports bus, football coaching, tennis coaching, hockey coaching and junior league.
