Royd Moor Viewing Platform

The project to build a viewing platform on Royd Moor has now been completed. Funding for the project was gained from the Countryside Agency (Local Heritage Initiative), Yorkshire Rural Community Council, and the Community Investment Fund. The society was supported by the Penistone and District community Partnership. The initial building work began in August 2004. The Penistone & District Society have involved local people in the completion of the project. Local firms were used for building, and local schools and children are helping produce the interpretive guides and information for leaflets.
