Penistone Regeneration Framework:
This Study examined how best to upgrade and develop Penistone town centre whilst respecting its historic core, and outlines several key projects including St John's Sensory Gardens.
Town Centre Caretaker:
The provision of a dedicated part-time caretaker for Penistone town centre, complimenting the work f the Neighbourhood Pride team. This project has also seen capital improvements carried out to the public toilets at Shrewsbury Road.
Administration Officer:
The creation ofta part-tie post to help facilitate the successful management of P.M.T.I.

The provision of an official website for the Penistone & District created by the people of Penistone, for the people of Penistone. The website is now maintained by the Surf and Snack Shack - visit it now at www.penistone.uk.com.

Surf and Snack Shack (01226 762800):
The creation of an Internet cafe for young people across Penistone & District. Demand for this project has been so high that a second phase has been launched, providing additional laptop, website management and making improvements to the cafe area. Community Investment Fund:
The establishment of a small grants scheme for community and voluntary groups across Penistone & District. To date, there have been over 40 successful applications for funding and projects include Royd Moor Viewing Point, Silkstone Pre-School I.T project, and Penistone Scout Hut Feasibility Study.
Busy Bees Children's Centre:
Provision of funding towards architectural and noise impact studies carried our for the original St John's site.
Penistone Townscape:
The need for this grant scheme was highlighted in the Regeneration Framework. Townscape has offered grants up to 75% towards the cost of shop front improvements in a distinct area of Penistone town centre.
Workspace Feasibility Study:
A study to examine the un-met demand for community and business workspace in Penistone & District and to determine options for te provision of units to meet this demand.
Rural Shopmobility:
Establishment of an innovative mobile shopmobility unit with wheelchairs and electric powered scooters for use by mobility-impaired members of the public across the District.
Community Equipment Bank:
The purchase and storage of various equipment (i.e. small marquees and tents, portable generators, floodlights, a PA system, bouncy castle and barbeque) that will be available for a small hire charge to community Groups.
Community Minibus:
Provision of a new community minibus managed by Barnsley Dial-a-Ride to provide transport solutions for voluntary and community groups in Penistone & District to access services in the area.
