PC Darryl Marshall was a very well known and popular local resident who gave a great deal of his time to the local community. He died suddenly while on holiday with his family in the Lake District.

Darryl was a founder member of the local Three 9'ers charity and also very active in Penistone Round Table and the organisation of local events such as the Mayor's Parade.

As a serving police officer he was instrumental in developing a number of renowned projects including the Surf and Snack Shack which operated out of the Penistone Youth Club.

Darryl will be sorely missed by his colleagues and his many friends in the community.
