Penistone Town Council has offices at St Johns Community Centre, Church Street, Penistone, Sheffield S36 6AR. Telephone/Fax 01226 370088. The town clerk is Elizabeth Sedgwick who can be contacted on 01226 370857. Contacting a councillor or the clerk can be through the office at the Community Centre.
The area covered by Penistone Town Council includes Penistone, Springvale, Thurlstone, Millhouse Green and Hoylandswaine. It has a population of over 10,000 residents.
Town Council meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of the month at 7pm, in the Council Chamber (except August). This is situated at the Town Hall building on Shrewsbury Road. These meetings are open to the public and members of the electorate can address the council. Agendas and minutes of the meeting are available here or by hard copy at Penistone Library.
The Community Centre is run by the Town Council and is a central base for the meetings of many Community Groups and Adult Learning Courses, (for a list of current activites and courses please click here). It can also be hired for childrens parties, social events, birthday and anniversary celebrations.
